I think many website owners tend to choose short domain registration periods of 1 year at a time. Could this be a signal that they really don’t know whether their online presence will continue beyond one year? Don’t you think that could be seen as a negative indicator by Google?
I don’t believe this is a ranking factor. For the record – I used to think it was, but no longer hold that view as I have no evidence to support it, in fact most evidence I have refutes it.
